they have castors and they stack nicely |
the wallpaper box |
This worked OK other than the paper is not flat so they faddle about when you are cutting it and every time you want to look through what papers you have, they all have to come out and be mauled around to find the one you want.
Thanks to mini-chum Irene, who is always full of good ideas, here's the brainwave she came up with.
Under a tenner and no postage, from EBay. This particular Tiger brand does books with 10, 20 and 40 pages. I considered ten pages, being a cheapskate, but pushed the boat out for a twenty page version. The theory being it will be useful for years to come as I acquire a bit more wallpaper here and there.
I settled down to happily stuffing it full of favourite things! Twenty full pages later I am now wondering whether to open a dolls house wallpaper shop.

Hi Em!
ReplyDeleteI think that your new wallpaper storage solution is Brilliant!
I also have those plastic storage bins where I keep my wallpaper rolls, so I understand the frustration of trying to get them flat again when you want to use them.
The book seems like a much more practical alternative. :))

It is great, but credit goes to Irene. Just work out where you can put such a large book!!!!

Under the bed where the bins used to fit?
ReplyDeleteEasy peasy and with luck it can go on top of a bin and you get more storage! Marilyn
DeleteHello Marilyn,
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing those great tips. Storage is always such an issue.

I am a control freak and tidy is my middle name so anything like this rings my bell. Marilyn
Deleteacabo de descubrir tu blog y me quedo por aquí, te invito al mío si te apetece
ReplyDeleteGracias. Voy a echar un vistazo a la tuya tambien. Marilyn
DeleteThis IS a great idea! Thanks to both of you for sharing. I bet it's great for roofing and tile sheets, too! Mine are all rolled up in a drawer and like you I forget what I have in there and often avoid it because it is such a hassle to mess with.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely, anything big and flat and needing storing, the mind boggles! Enjoy filing your goodies. Marilyn
DeleteGreat idea! Now come with a way for us to store all of the stripwood! Any ideas?
ReplyDeleteHi Beth, Nice to see you here. My wood is stored in those under bed boxes (top picture) Probably not a lot of help to anyone who has a lot of the stuff - I don't. I bundle the matching trims together and tape them with masking tape and the wood just gets flung in the box. I did think of a piece of plastic pipe with a glued on cardboard bottom - like an umbrella stand - for the trims but decided against as they would be in the open and I was concerned about them warping in any 'damp' air (my hive is outside the house) and gathering dust. So sorry, not any help here. In shops they just seem to stack them on shelves. Marilyn
