Where I am right now

If you think I have abandoned you and my Dalton House I promise I haven't I have just been side-tracked far longer than I expected to be.  The amount of stuff that needs sorting in a move to a new property is mountainous.  Right now I have something of a commitment to the garden, weather and time permitting, as I have a ton of plants gasping to get their feet in the soil.

If you want to visit me there - just go to Florilegium

  1. Unpacking and arranging a new house to function nicely always takes more time than we imagine. Fortunately, it can be just as enjoyable as doing the same in miniature!
I am sure while you are working away on the new home, the ideas for the mini one have been developing and marinating so that when you do come back to them, they'll be inspired and marvelous!
In the meantime, spring is such a glorious time in the garden, and I hope you enjoy every moment!

    1. Thank you Jodi for not scolding me. We are having a flush of good weather here so here are no excuses for lingering indoors. Truthfully I am just waiting for some shelving to go up in my workroom and then I can stack and store stuff better and then I will feel I have a proper workplace and might actually be able to get on with things mini. 2. Hi Marilyn
I can easily imagine how it would be for you, with not only a new garden to acquaint yourself with, but also with new plants to introduce and/or move around.
And doesn't it feel good to get your hands back into the dirt? There is something very therapeutic about working in the garden, which nurtures the plants as it feeds our souls.

    1. Be OK if I was tiddling about with a garden in place but we are a new build house so there was just a field of mud and I can't live with that for the summer so it was a case of cracking on and getting it sorted. As of today the 'bones' are in and I have 108 perennials left to plant! I do love it but my body just isn't willing. M

  3. New house and unpacking would take me forever! Take your time and enjoy your progress as it comes. And good luck with all your flowers and plants.

Thanks Sheila. Having moved a dozen times in my life my proud boast was that I could sort a house in a weekend - not this time. It may be that I have more stuff? In reality I think it is just that at 72 and in a totally strange place it is a bit more of a challenge. Thanks for good wishes on the garden too - again past doing it really but am sort of enjoying the challenge and totally enjoying seeing the ideas come together.

  4. Hello Marilyn,
I just saw the pictures on Florilegium... what a huge job but it is looking beautiful. I think we all can relate to the nightmare that is moving. You get settled in and enjoy bringing your garden to life...your fans will be waiting for your return when you get here.
    Big hug
    Giac
